This interview is with Dr. Cass Ingram and we are discussing a combination of hemp stalk extract and wild tumeric root extract. These are the two hottest herbs in the natural products industry. With good reason. The benefits of hemp and tumeric are well established and becoming well known even for those who don’t follow nutritional science.

Many people have used one or the other or both in search of better health. The main reason for the popularity of hemp and tumeric is that users experience better health. In this interview we are going to discuss the nutritional benefits of these two herbs.

We are also going to explore a product call Canacurmin from North American Herb and Spice (NAHS). NAHS was the company who first introduced wild oregano oil to the herb industry and Dr. Cass Ingram has been the champion for wild spice oils ever since.

Dr. Ingram has written several books on the topic of wild oregano and I have interviewed him many times over the years. CLICK HERE for the list of all of his interviews. Dr. Ingram is a prolific author with over 20 books to his credit. One of his newest books is The Hemp Oil Miracle. You can learn more at his website: CassIngram.com.

One of the consistent messages that I hear from Dr. Ingram is the importance of WHOLE herb and spice extracts and oils. In this case we are going to discuss Canacurmin. Canacurmin is the only wild plus raw turmeric-hemp stalk extract available, and the turmeric extract is 100% wild. The turmeric in Canacurmin is highly potent, because it is made exclusively from the wild-growing spice thriving without farming or cultivation. Because it is wild, it is free of all pesticides and herbicides.

That’s what you’re getting from Canacurmin.

A Serious Problem Exists. You Need to Know

There is a separate part of this discussion that is very important to Dr. Ingram and should be important to every listener to HealthQuestPodcast.com.

There is a disruptive force emerging that is changing the nature of supplement industry that has many concerned. It has already disrupted the retail distribution chain in every industry. This is the force:

Predatory pricing by online only retailers.

This is having a significant and damaging effects on retailers, obviously, but also on the manufacturers of high quality and specialized supplements like Canacurmin by NAHS. How and why is this a problem?

Let’s examine NAHS Oregano Oil as an example. This product like so many others came to the marketplace because of passionate people like Dr. Ingram and committed companies like NAHS. Dr. Ingram has been a tireless educator teaching others (retailers and consumers) about this amazing product.

Passionate retailers have a long history of educating consumers and acting as a gatekeeper to the best products. As a result consumers learn from retailers about the best products and how to use them. This is why and how this products became popular. Products work and when people try them, they become believers. It is win, win, win for customer, retailer and manufacturer.

Now online sellers are buying in volume and deep discounting the price. They have little overhead and nothing invested in educating the consumer. This is a big trend and manufacturers are now beginning to suffer as well as the retailer. Why is this a problem for manufacturers who sell a lot of product to online dealers?

It is because the effect of online selling is causing retail stores to suffer declines in sales which in turn affects purchases to the manufacturer. As stores go out of business or simply quit selling a highly discounted product, eventually the personal selling and recommendations start to shrink. When retailers don’t teach others about products, those products gradually become less well known and therefore less popular and that eventually leads to a decline for the manufacturer.

The other consequence is that retail stores will often carry many products from a trusted manufacturer and teach others about the benefits. Less stores = less exposure = lower sales = big problems for manufacturers. Stores will carry less variety so there is a gradual decline for both the store and the manufacturer.

Another problem is that the internet sellers are not there to make distinctions between products and companies. That makes it harder for consumers to get good, honest answers and guidance. Everyone knows you must be skeptical online. It’s nearly impossible to have any personal contact through the internet. There is no shortage of information but what is lacking is context. What are the important distinctions between products, science and companies?

One solution that manufacturers are embracing is limited online selling and supporting independent retailers. Without independent retailers, innovative companies will be less able to convey the benefits of their products. This is a real problem and it is seen a huge problem that must be addressed by the best companies in the natural products industry.

It is a problem that consumers will confront, one way or another. What is the best solution and what will the long term outcome be? If you have appreciated the skill, knowledge and guidance of an independent retailer then you know why it is important to support their businesses. Without them, who will you trust to explore, investigate and explain the best products and practices for better health? It won’t be the online sellers or the big box stores. Who will it be? Dr. Ingram states, and I agree, the independent retailer is critical in this process. Without them, we will all suffer from the lack. The trusted information sources of the past are still just as important today. Consider your resources and support those that offer a clear benefit. Dr. Ingram is quite passionate about this challenge and he discusses the impact on NAHS, their retailers and their customers.

This a defining issue that you should care about.
