365 – Medical Cannabis and the Endocannabinoid System

Cannabis has powerful benefits
for human health

Ann Allworth, Ph.D., is the Founder & CEO of Cannabis Education Solutions. Ann became passionate about the health benefits of cannabis after discovering how much it helped her. You’ll hear her story in this interview.

There is a gradual shift taking place around the world where individual states in the US and some countries are legalizing marijuana for recreational and/or medicinal use. CBD from hemp has become accepted and embraced but not yet fully legal everywhere. There is great optimism that cannabis in all it’s forms will become legal, hopefully sooner rather than later.

In this interview Ann discusses the following topics:

  • The history of cannabis.
  • Cannabis as medicine prior to 1937.
  • How cannabis became illegal and the criminalization of cannabis use.
  • Discovery of the endocannabinoid system barely 30 years ago.
  • The medicinal, recreational and personal benefits of cannabis.
  • The science of cannabis research.

Google Scholar

For those of you who want to look at the science, search Google Scholar. Here are my results using the following search parameters:

You can search any nutrient or drug easily with Google Scholar. You can refine your search by year and by adding other search time. The point is that there is significant interest and research going on. You can search on “endocannabinoid” and you have almost 60,000 results. It’s fascinating just to review the titles. They tell alot about the direction of the research.
