357 – Becoming a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Health Coach

You can become a wellness coach

In this interview with Reed Davis, we will discuss Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDN). Reed Davis and I share the view that nutrition is the foundation of good health. More people are making changes to their lifestyle and diet seeking to improve and maintain health and healing. One of the biggest challenges is understanding what they should do and how to measure the results, especially if they have health challenges.

This is why we need health coaches who have the training and skill to guide us. Perhaps you want to become a health coach. You should consider FDN. If you are a health care professional and want to augment your training, consider FDN. Even if you are a lay person who wants to study the foundations of health for your personal benefit, FDN can provide training you can use.

I first studied nutrition and natural health in the early 1970s. It was a different time. However, the training I received then laid the foundation for my lifetime, both personally and professionally. I know the confidence and satisfaction that comes from training in natural health. I continue to learn and HealthQuestPodcast.com is my service to those who want to dig deeper and learn more. Reed and I share this passion to teach others.

What is Functional Diagnostic Nutrition®?

“Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDN) is a complete methodology used to help people recover and maintain the best health possible.

There is no interest in diagnosing or treating disease, an area well attended by licensed physicians. Instead, FDN investigates hidden healing opportunities within the hormone, immune, digestion, detoxification, energy and nervous systems using functional lab testing.  The clues collected by objective and subjective assessments are then used to guide holistic lifestyle recommendations intended to coach up function in all areas of the body while coaching down contributors to Metabolic Chaos®, which will ultimately restore health and balance. For most chronic stress-related conditions, FDN is all a person needs to do to get well and stay well. For those with a serious medical condition, FDN is a proven stabilizer and holistic grounding program, adjunctive to the medical attention they may receive.

The FDN Health Coaching and Lab Training Certification course covers all aspects of a functional, lab-based health coaching practice from client on-boarding and intake through creation of all-natural individualized health building program , as well as ongoing health coaching and case management skills.  A complete business model and implementation plan is also included.  The FDN Course is delivered using a recourse-filled, user-friendly online platform and forums with numerous one-on-one mentoring sessions to work on one’s own health and practice what you learn.” Select content provided by https://www.functionaldiagnosticnutrition.com/

Thyroid Health

As a example Reed discusses thyroid health. Thyroid challenges are common and often result in medical treatment, most frequently thyroid hormone medicine as a first choice. This is for your doctor and you to decide. Reed describes how Functional Diagnostic Nutrition would approach a thyroid health. It’s a more comprehensive approach that can stand alone or augment your medical treatment*. Important note: Functional Diagnostic Nutrition does not provide or replace medical care. For all medical conditions, consult with your doctor.
