Our hormones are deeply connected to our behavior and emotions.
Hormonal imbalances also contribute to common health conditions.
Dr. Flynn is an interesting guy. I have known of him for a long time and we have met once casually. We both live in northeast Wisconsin. What I didn’t know was how successful he has become and his influence is expansive. His specialty is in hormonal health, especially for women. His passion is borne out of personal experience.
Dr. Flynn has written a book entitled “I Disagree“. I found myself enjoying reading various parts and found that I agree with Dr. Flynn on so many of the points he makes. This book is full of stories that tell of Dr. Flynn’s journey and of those he has influenced. First and foremost is his wife Christy and many of women he has helped.
The first principle is that it is OK to disagree with the medical profession. Doctor’s treat disease. Their methods rarely lead to better health. We need doctors but we must realize that modern medicine is not geared to rebuilding health.
Dr. Flynn is a powerful proponent for testing hormones and other factors that may be present. I am a strong believer in benchmark testing to know where we are and what are good targets for intervention. When you know where the problems lie, one can make better decisions as to how to proceed. Better choices lead to better results.
“To say that hormones can be complicated would be an understatement. With hormone issues on the rise, more and more medical treatments aim at manipulating the symptoms rather than trying to understand what clues the hormones are trying to tell us. Common hormone imbalances can result in PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, weight loss difficulty, energy and sleep struggles, painful cycles, low libido and cancer, just to name a few. At the forefront of treatment in birth control, hysterectomies, ablations, hormone replacement therapy and others. For both men and women, these don’t have to be acceptable solutions.
In order to have a chance to correct hormone issues, proper and complete testing is a necessity. Three major mediums are possibly of measuring hormone levels: blood, urine and saliva. Depending on the individual case, one or more may be necessary. The next step involves knowing whether there is a hormone production or hormone conversion issue, or potentially a combination of the two. With a full understanding of how the body works and where the hormone levels are at, a game plan can be established in order to help restore the normal dynamics of the hormones.”
