Dr. Christopher Mohr is an expert in sports nutrition, weight loss and essential fatty acids.
If you are a regular listener to HealthQuestPodcast.com, you know I think omega-3 fatty acids are perhaps the most important single nutrient you can take. Especially marine based omega-3 (as opposed to plant based omega-3). Second only maybe to a multi-vitamin supplement. If you listen to our collection of interviews on fish oil omega-3 you will understand why this nutrient is foundational to your health. My personal opinion is that if you don’t increase omega-3 AND reduce omega-6 in your diet and if your omega-3 is deficient, you will be challenged to be fully healthy. The deficiency of omega-3 is epidemic and is a major factor in every inflammatory condition. Again, this is my personal opinion. Click on the Omega-3 image in the upper right to see all of our interviews on omega-3.
In this interview with Dr. Christopher Mohr, we will discuss the challenges of weight loss and the importance of omega-3. Dr. Mohr is a recognized expert in weight loss, sports nutrition and training, fitness and exercise, inflammation, heart disease, prevention and treatment of overweight and obesity, whole food nutrition and dietary supplement use for disease prevention, essential fatty acids, fish oil supplementation, lifestyle changes for improved health and mental performance.
“Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for disease prevention and increased quality of life. Aside from their benefit on the heart, brain, and other areas of the body you can’t “feel” on a daily basis, they also help with joint fluidity and pain reduction, which are very tangible issues. The benefits received from obtaining adequate levels of omega-3 fats go on forever, and I believe they should be as “mainstream” as a simple multivitamin.” —Christopher Mohr, PhD, RD
