It’s time to bring alternative practitioners out of the shadows in Wisconsin.
This episode focuses on the Wisconsin Consumer Choice and Wellness Act, SB 280. If you live in Wisconsin or you do nutritional business in Wisconsin, then this episode should be of particular interest. Even if you live outside Wisconsin, this bill could be important to you. There are many other states that are considering similar bills, so passing this bill in Wisconsin could lend support in other states.
Like all states, Wisconsin is home to many complementary and alternative health service providers. They are usually unlicensed practitioners such as herbalists, naturopaths, nutritionists, aroma therapists etc.
The Problem
Any unlicensed person who does any type of healing act in Wisconsin could be in technical violation of medical or other licensing laws. They may be at risk for unwarranted and unnecessary disciplinary action.
The Solution
Pass Wisconsin Senate Bill 280, the Consumer Choice and Wellness Act
SB 280 allows alternative practitioners in Wisconsin to provide complementary health services. It also requires practitioners provide full disclosure about their practice to consumers. SB 280 is a common sense solution that serves the needs of consumers, practitioners and the state of Wisconsin. Wisconsin should be one of the growing number of states that recognize the importance of complementary and alternative health services and provide a legal framework for these providers to practice.
We Need Your Voice
This bill won’t get passed without consumers speaking up. This must be done before April, 2012, when this current session ends. For more information see the document: “Support Wisconsin SB 280”, found on the RESOURCES page at www.wiwellness.org, You can sign an online petition there as well.

Disclosure
I was recently elected President of Wisconsin for Choice in Wellness, Inc. We are a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(4) corporation, created for the purpose of supporting and hopefully passing SB 280. We are seeking and accepting donations to help us get this message out. Every dollar that is donated will go to the cost of spreading the message and providing lobbying support in Madison. All the officers of the corporation are donating their time and efforts, so all donated funds support the cause.
Please do something by making your voice count. That is what we are asking. This is important for you and will be a lasting legacy to our children and all of the people of Wisconsin. This is our moment. Please help us spread the word. This the the second most important thing you can do. If every interested person contacts their legislators, then we will pass this bill.
Thanks for your help!
